Ballantine. 1978. The J. R. R. Tolkien Calendar. 13 x 12.25in. Contains Middle-earth dates. Contains artwork by the Brothers Hildebrandt. This calendar contains a different set of artwork than 1977. Images include "Legolas and Gimli" on the cover. This is the first time I have ever seen Legolas depicted with the stature of a dwarf. The only thing elf-like about him is his blond hair. Since Beorn is in keeping with their bulky style, The Hildebrandt brother's image "Beorn the Berserker" brings out the bear in Beorn.
